![]() Rob Greenfield gets many of his meals out of dumpsters. He does this to demonstrate the incredible food waste we have here in the US when so many go hungry. He encourages everyone to reach out to stores and restaurants to donate food instead of dumping it. Check out video interview in the Huffington Post or website get more information on what you can do on www.robgreenfield.tv ![]() Nothing better demonstrates the plight of the homeless in our country than the story covered by Channel 6 WCPO out of Cincinatti. In Florence KY, a homeless woman was injured when she was pitched into a garbage truck when the driver emptied a dumpster into the truck. The woman had taken refuge in the dumpster from the cold and rain. This would never have happened in one of our dumpsters since they are walk in dumpsters and not covered dumpsters, but it is sad that in a country that has so much we still have so many families a veterans without roofs over their heads. Reach out in your community to help those in need. ![]() Apparently they do thing differently in Philadelphia than they do around Albany, NY. Affordable Dumpsters likes to keep our dumpsters clean and shiny, but we still would not recommend using them for water sports. This picture was taken at a block party. Party goers lined the dumpster with plastic and ply wood and filled it from a hydrant. The city of Philadelphia says this is a no-no. Thanks to Billy Penn who first reported the incident on billypenn.com. We have discovered that there are a lot of interesting and even funny stories about dumpsters out there. Thought we would share a few with you. If we can contribute some awareness to what is going on in the world around us or give you cause to chuckle, then I think we have done our job. Enjoy
